Can you de-throne the 2016 Spelling Bee champions?
The Friends of Queen Anne’s County Library will be holding its 2nd Annual Adult Spelling Bee on Thursday, October 19. Registration is now opened for teams that are ready to compete in this event for the title of best spellers in the county.
Each team will have 3 spellers and will compete in rounds until one team is crowned the champion. All teams will be provided with a study guide in advance of the event, and teams write down each word during the event (you don’t have to stand up and recite the spelling… unless something unexpected happens!).
The team registration fee is $200, and we encourage all teams to find sponsors. All proceeds support the Friends of the Library’s work to assist the county library in achieving its mission. (The Friends of the Library is a 501(c) (3) organization.)
Admission to the Spelling Bee will be free, so each team will be able to bring its own fan club to cheer you on (as they enjoy snacks, beverages, and chances to win all sorts of raffle prizes).
