Information Session/Being on the FOL Board of Directors (Centreville session)
November 1, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
The Friends of the Queen Anne’s County Library has hundreds of members and provides thousands of dollars to the Library each year to support programs and projects aligned with Queen Anne’s County Library’s priorities. The Friends organization is governed by an all-volunteer Board of Directors. Directors develop and implement fundraising plans, conduct community outreach to increase awareness about Queen Anne’s County Library programs and resources (as well as about the Friends of the Library), and work to effectively fulfill funding requests from Library leadership.
The Friends look to welcome up to 3 new Directors in 2023. Any individuals interested in learning more about being a Director are encouraged to attend an Information Session led by current members of the Board of Directors. These question-and-answer sessions are signed to provide a clear picture of the opportunities and responsibilities associated with being a Friends Director in an informal setting.
The Friends have organized two Information Sessions for those interested in learning more about the Board of Directors:
- Tuesday, October 19, 11:30am, Kent Island Branch
- Tuesday, November 1, 6:15pm, Centreville Branch
Interested parties only need to attend one session. Chose the one that best fits your schedule. Unable to attend but interested in the Board? Email us at FriendsOfQACLibrary@gmail.com to set up a time to talk!
