Board of Directors Meeting
Kent Island Library 200 Library Circle, Stevensville, MD, United StatesThe Board of Directors of the Friends meets every month to discuss ongoing business, upcoming events, and the status of Friends programs. These meetings are generally held on the first Monday of the month and are opened to the public. Meetings start at 7pm.
2018 Annual Meeting
Centreville Library 121 S Commerce St., Centreville, MD, United StatesAll Friends members--new and returning--are invited to the Annual Meeting of the Friends of Queen Anne’s County Library. Meeting agenda includes discussions of the Friends’ contributions to the Library and the role of the Library in Queen Anne’s County, as well as election of Board members and officers for 2018. (If you are not a current member, you may join at the Annual Meeting for a donation of $25. The event is free for current members.) The meeting will include a brief business meeting, providing updates on the work of the Friends and electing members for the Board of Directors. The featured speaker for the meeting will be Jim Duffy, author of Tubman Travels and “Secrets of the Eastern Shore” blogger, who will discuss and take questions on the Underground Railroad throughout Delmarva and specifically in Queen Anne’s County. Library Director John Walden will also present an update on the status of the library. Wine and cheese will be served, and copies of Tubman Travels will be available for sale. Reading with Friends–Author Storytime: Jamal & Me
Kent Island Library 200 Library Circle, Stevensville, MD, United StatesThe Friends of the Queen Anne’s County Library welcome picture-book author Carol Franks-Randall at a Reading with Friends event on Friday, March 16, 2018 from 2:30–3:30 PM at the KI Library. (This is an early dismissal day for students in Queen Anne’s County Public Schools.) Children ages 4 through 8 are invited to attend with a caregiver. No advance registration is required.
Dinner Out at Rams Head Shore House
Rams Head Shore House 800 Main Street, Stevensville, MD, United StatesAfter visiting Kent Island library on Tuesday, March 27, head across the street for dinner at Rams Head Shore House! (And plan to go to Rams Head even if you don’t need to go to the library that day!) Rams Head will donate 20% of all money spent on food that night back to the Friends of Queen Anne’s County Library.
Members-Only Backroom Book Sale

We don’t have enough room in our lobby Used Book Nooks to display all the great volumes we have, so we are opening the doors of our storage room for one day only--and only to members of Friends of Queen Anne’s County Library!

Book Donation Day — June
U-Haul Storage Center 461 Pullman Crossing, Grasonville, MD, United StatesFor the summer only, though, the Friends are able to accept donations of large collections of books at an offsite storage facility. Just pull your car up to the U-Haul Storage center on one of our three Book Donation Days, and load all of your books onto a cart to be taken away!
