The Kent Island Bay Times reported on March 15, 2017, about changes to the composition of the Board of Directors of the Friends of Queen Anne’s County which voted on at the 2017 Friends Annual Meeting.

After serving as the president for more than 3 years–since the launch of the county’s Friends group–Mary Jackson stepped down from the Board of Directors. All members of the Friends are thankful to Jackson for her leadership and for her pivotal role in shaping a successful organization.

Beth Maier of Chester MD was elected to the Board of Directors. Maier will serve as a director, along with Penny Lins and Sue Haddox. The officers of the Board are: Kathie Smarick, President; Carol Franks-Randall, Vice-President; Connie Zellig, Treasurer; and DeAnn Cheyne, Secretary.
