The members and supporters of the Friends of Queen Anne’s County library have given generously to the Friends, through membership in the organization, attending fund raising events, buying used books in the libraries’ lobbies and at the Annual Used Book Sale, and in so many more ways. This generosity allowed the Friends to fully fund new furniture for a popular seating area in the Kent Island library. Library director John Walden had identified this need to the Friends.

The seating area, located among the library’s periodicals and adjacent to its computer workstations, is highly trafficked by senior citizens and seniors at nearby Kent Island High School, alike, and had not been updated in several years. It is the hope of the Friends that this improvement to the Library will enhance it’s position as a true community hub for the people of Queen Anne’s County.

We are grateful to all those who’ve supported the Friends and look forward to ongoing support that will enable further contributions to allow the Library to achieve its goals.
