Friends Mid-Year Progress Report 2018

As of September,  here’s what the Friends of Queen Anne’s County Library have funded already in 2018:

  • 118 Library-based programs and events in June, July, and August for almost 1600 county children (aged 0 to 18 years) through the “Libraries Rock” Summer Reading Program
  • a Home Video/VHS Conversion Center at which library staff can guide you through the process of digitizing all those important memories you currently have saved on VHS tapes. This technology is available to the public at no cost.
  • books for one month for more than 600 county children (aged 0-5 years) who participate in the Dolly Parton Imagination Library
  • device charging station at Centreville Library
  • new books for 306 fourth grade students at county participating in the Guys Read program, designed to keep elementary-aged boys interested in reading

And coming soon…..

  • MakerSpace Carts, including 3D Printers and collections of building and crafting tools
  • Muzzy DVD foreign language program for kids
  • 50 Vox Books: Narrated childrens’ books
  • New furniture
    • study room table
    • kids’ chairs
    • ADA-compliant computer desk
    • book return carts
