On Friday, May 11, singer/storyteller Minton Sparks will perform a concert at Chesapeake College, sponsored by the Queen Anne’s County Centre for the Arts (QACA). QACA has provided the Friends of the Library with a limited number of tickets to sell for this concert, with all proceeds made by the Friends from their sale going to support Library programs.
If you’re not familiar with Minton Sparks, here’s some background from QACA: “Minton Sparks fuses music, poetry, and an intoxicating gift for storytelling. Her words paint a picture of the rural South, putting you square in the middle of the world of the people and places she knows like the back of her hand. Equal parts, sexy, sultry, evocative, and funny, Minton Sparks is like no other performer. More than a musician, more than a storyteller, she is truly a delight.”
This is a great chance to support the Friends of the Library while you enjoy a wonderful performer! Tickets are available for purchase at the circulation desks at both the Centreville and Kent Island Libraries. The cost per ticket is $20, payable by cash or check (to Friends of QAC Library). Be sure to get yours soon while they are still available!
And thank you to the Queen Anne’s County Centre for the Arts for showing providing the Friends of the Library with this opportunity!
