On Sunday, May 1st, 2016, six members of Girl Scout Troop #446 donated a van full of books in very good to excellent condition to the Friends of Library after running book collections and book drives for a month. Savannah Landon, a member of the troop, will be competing in the 2016-2017 Miss Junior Pre-Teen Maryland International Pageant and the book drive was a community service project for Savannah and Girl Scout Troop #446.

The Friends very much appreciate the donation of books that will be sold in the lobby of the Kent Island library to raise funds for library programs, such as the Summer Reading Program, and library equipment.
