The Friends of Queen Anne’s County Library partnered with SweetFrog frozen yogurt shop in Chester MD this summer to encourage children’s literacy and to raise funds to support library programming.

July 13th was designated by SweetFrog as a Spirit Day for the Friends of QAC Library. Members of the Friends were on hand to distribute free fiction and non-fiction books to children aged 5 and under, while 10% of all proceeds from Sweet Frog’s sales this day were donated to the Friends. In all, more than 40 books were provided to young readers, and $150 was raised.

The Friends of Queen Anne’s County Library was founded in 2013 and incorporated as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The Friends help promote and support the library and its wide range of programs, services, and materials. As a private non-profit, the Friends operates independently from the library and without government funding.
